Wahluke Slope grower/winemaker Mike Thiede also operates a distillery, so he uses his own spirits for this lipsmacking Port-style. The nose offers hints of black cherry, plum sauce and licorice, and there’s a match on the bold and rich palate. Those notes are also joined by golden raisins, and the alcohol in this 375-ml bottle is very nicely integrated. Suggested pairings include cheesecake and brownies. It received a gold medal at the 2014 Capital Food and Wine Festival Wine Competition.
