Dusted Valley Vintners 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley, $35
By Great Northwest Wine on May 16, 2014
Anticipation is building for this voluptuous and hedonistic Cab from the Dusted Valley boys, who reached into the steamy Wahluke Slope for grapes from Clifton, Katherine Leone, Northridge, StoneTree and Weinbau as well as Minnick Hills in the Walla Walla Valley and Dionysus north of Pasco. A crack of the cap unleashes aromas of dark cherry, Marionberry, blueberry, mint and toasted oak. The pour brings a big delivery of black fruit, a medium structure of sandy tannins and a long finish that picks up hints of buttered popcorn. Look for it this fall at DVV’s tasting galleries in Walla Walla and Woodinville as well as savvy retailers and restaurants.
