Wenatchee Valley native Doug Nierman continues to shine as winemaker for Cecil and Marilyn Zerba, and this stunning Cab serves as yet another example of the work he did to help Zerba Cellars earn its 2011 Pacific Northwest Winery of the Year award from Wine Press Northwest. The fruit source is primarily from the estate Jon Cockburn Ranch Vineyard, but Kelly, LeFore, Summit View and Winesap also played roles. Beautiful aromas include black currant, allspice, clove, horehound and walnut. The drink is rich, dark, bold and exotic as black fruit and baking spices push from beginning to end in this remarkably balanced wine. It earned a double gold at the 2014 Walla Walla Valley Wine Competition.
