One of Washington state’s busiest and best winemakers, Robert Smasne offers a wide assortment of approachable and food-friendly reds, and The Farmer is one of his most consistent. He builds this around Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, and it offers aromas of plums, boysenberry and redwood bark. There’s a rich entry of red plum and black currant, backed with cherry, bright acidity and solid tannins.
