Robert Brittan’s light hand with French oak using fruit from Carabella and Hyland vineyards — Dijon 76 and clone 108, respectively — allows for a Chardonnay that shows balance across the spectrum. Tropical aromas of banana and pineapple are joined by hints of butter, toast and lemon oil. The palate offers a rich entry of mango and pineapple, pleasing mid-level butteriness and bright lemony acidity to also make it food friendly. Suggested pairings included Chilled Melon and Cucumber Soup and Goat Cheese Gougere with Yarrow, which are available during the Dundee Hills winery’s Summertime Lunches each Friday through Sept. 26.
