Laurie Lewis and Renee Neely are celebrating the 15th anniversary of their Portland winery this year, and their MT is a quaffer from Delfino Vineyard near Roseburg, Ore. This lot came off Sept. 13 at 22.5 Brix, and they left the wine off-dry at 2.6% residual sugar. The nose of baked pineapple, apple cider, apricot and lemon oil leads to straight-forward flavors of ripe pear and baked apple. Serve this well-chilled, and the chicks pair it with cream of asparagus soup, steamed prawns, spicy Asian noodle salad, gumbo, madrigal cheese, risotto with peas or crème brûlée. It’s available at their Hip tasting gallery in PDX as well as Cyril’s at Clay Pigeon Winery and the Fred Meyer in Newberg.
