Pend d’Oreille Winery 2013 Chardonnay, Snake River Valley, $18
By Great Northwest Wine on October 19, 2014
Stephen Meyer began making wine in the Idaho Panhandle two decades ago, and while he relies on Washington’s Columbia Valley for his red program, he buys Idaho fruit for his two styles of Chardonnay. This is a citrusy, food-friendly version with aromas and flavors of Asian pear and minerality with balanced acidity and lemon oil on the finish. Serve with cream-based pasta, shellfish or chicken.
