By Great Northwest Wine on January 10, 2015
Walla Walla winemaker Tanya Woodley creates this Super Tuscan-style blend as a tribute to her mother, who modeled under the name of Dena Rae. The blend of Sangiovese (53%), Cabernet Sauvignon (35%) and Merlot comes off Wallula, Les Collines and Lodmell vineyards conjures up aromas of poached black cherry, chocoloat-covered blueberry, toast and black licorice. The drink is easy to approach, rich and a bit on the lighter style with flavors of boysenberry syrup, black currant and elderberry with crushed walnut in the finish.
