Metropolitan Market wine specialist Mark Takagi continues to collaborate with Hal Landvoigt, Precept’s director of winemaker, on this project. And they continue to make delicious wines together for the Seattle-area grocery group. This blend of Syrah (51%) and Merlot carries aromas akin to dark plum, black currant, dark toast, mint, patchouli and Earl Grey tea. The drink offers lighter purple tones of blackberry and raspberry with pleasing earthiness, spice and milk chocolate. Its lighter structure and higher pH (3.92) slots this in the category of “drink now,” and the price point makes it an easy repeat performer for any weeknight.
Rating: Outstanding!
