Terrance Atkins operates tasting room in Maryhill and Kirkland where he pours this dessert expression of Barbera off a family vineyard in Washington’s Klickitat County. It offers a nose of black currant, dark plum and plump blueberry with sweet spices of nutmeg and allspice. Inside, it’s filled with more black currant and black cherry with milk chocolate and lots of sweetness at 6% residual sugar. There’s ample acidity to provide some balance, making it a good version of this style.
