Styring Vineyards 2012 Estate Pinot Noir, Ribbon Ridge, $45
By Great Northwest Wine on June 11, 2015
Steve and Kelley Styring began planting their 40 acres near Newberg, Ore., in 2003, and their largest production of Pinot Noir exemplifies the stunning vintage. Aromas of Hawaiian Fruit Punch, black currant and cranberry pick up hints of coffee, minerality and moist earth. It’s brimming with gorgeous darker-toned red fruits akin to black cherry and dark plum. The richness of the midpalate shines amid superb tannins and juicy acidity, and the finish of chocolate-covered Marionberries makes this easy to embrace.
