Union Wine Co. 2014 Underwood Pinot Gris, Oregon, $12
By Great Northwest Wine on June 14, 2015
Best Buy! This rapidly growing Willamette Valley wine company made a sizable splash in the marketplace by offering both Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris in a 375-ml can. Here’s the 2014 edition of the Underwood Pinot Gris, which produces aromas of ripe Red Haven peach, banana, cantaloupe and apricot, backed by ReaLemon juice. The palate offers round flavors of Gala apple, Bosc pear and honeydew melon, finished by ample lemony acidity. Look for these wines both by the bottle ($12) and in a more easily transportable four-pack of cans ($24).
