Pacific Rim Winemakers 2012 Vin de Glacière Riesling, Columbia Valley, $14
By Great Northwest Wine on July 18, 2015
Best Buy! Steven Sealock and Master of Wine candidate Nicolas Quillé remain committed to introducing Riesling, and this organic version is an easy way to explore the world of ice wine. Enticing aromas of baked apple, dried apricot, butterscotch and honey toss out complex notes of lavender and baking spice. It’s more elegant than rich on the palate with flavors of Gala apple and baked pear, and the residual sugar of 15% is polished by a finish of Meyer lemon. Suggested pairings include blue cheeses, cheesecake and fruit tarts.
