Prosser winemaker Ron Bunnell excels with Rhône grapes, and he’s developed this Roussanne with some barrel influence that would appeal to Chardonnay lovers looking for a fling. His past association with Art den Hoed’s Far Away Vineyard gave him insight that allows for aromas of lemon oil, Bosc pear, toast and Spanish almond. There’s a match on the palate with additional notes of baked apple, pineapple and butterscotch. Balanced acidity and a lemony finish could make for a delicious pairing with the wood-fired Pear and Bacon Pizza at the Bunnells’ Wine o’Clock Wine Bar and Bistro at Prosser’s Vintners Village.
