Best Buy! This bargain red by Woodinville winemaker Jean Claude Beck is just the latest in a seemingly never-ending string of approachable reds streaming out of The Woodhouse Wine Estates and its marketplace tier. As the name suggests, it’s a life through red varieties — Merlot (32%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%), Cabernet Franc (25%) — boosted by structure from Petit Verdot (7%) and gamy suppleness from Syrah. It’s filled with dark blue fruit tones of blackberry and black currant, backed by chocolaty tannins, blueberry acidity, black tea, vanilla and black pepper. Everything is easily presented in a medium structure that spreads out evenly across the palate.
