Airfield Estates 2014 Sauvignon Blanc, Yakima Valley, $15
By Great Northwest Wine on September 18, 2015
Best Buy! One of the Washington wine industry’s largest vineyards is surrounded by some unique history as the Miller family’s Airport Ranches served as a World War II airfield that is believed to have been part of the defense network for the Hanford Site. Marcus Miller’s latest release of Sauvignon Blanc from the 950-acre site soars with gooseberry, lime juice, lemongrass and minty aromas — and there’s a delicious match on the palate. It’s crisp, clean and bone-dry with a finish of Granny Smith apple and fresh thyme.
