Jones of Washington 2014 Estate Viognier, Wahluke Slope, $15
By Great Northwest Wine on September 23, 2015
Best Buy! The consumer-minded Jones farming family in Washington’s Columbia Basin reached into Unit 7 of their plantings on the warm Wahluke Slope for this delicious fruit-forward Viognier that’s a touch off-dry. It’s partially barrel-fermented, which makes for crisp aromas of honeysuckle, peach, lime and lemon. The drink opens with a juicy bite of tree-ripened Red Haven peach that’s backed up with Asian pear, Gala apple and a steady stream of lemon juice. A dusting of minerality adds to the refreshing finish.
