Jones of Washington 2014 Pinot Gris, Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley, $13
Best Buy! Victor Palencia continues to prove why he’s considered one of Pacific Northwest’s top white wine producers with this latest release for the Jones family in the Columbia Basin. His work with the family’s 2 Gun Vineyard near Quincy, Wash., sends out aromas of white peach, lemon, lime and spearmint and orange blossom. The drink features fresh slices of starfruit, lemon and lime with navel orange in the finish, which offers pleasing but not screaming acidity. It’s earned a double gold medal and best of class at the Wenatchee World’s North Central Washington Wine Awards as well as a double gold at the 2015 Seattle Wine Awards.
