Sawtooth Estate Winery 2011 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Snake River Valley, $17
By Great Northwest Wine on December 12, 2015
A product of a cool vintage in Idaho, Bill Murray and Meredith Smith collaborated to create this pleasant and bright Cabernet Sauvignon off the 70-acre Sawtooth site, established in the 1980s by founder Brad Pintler. Floral notes of horehound and orange peel are supported by blackberry jam, eucalyptus and soy sauce. On the palate, its suave structure features Bing cherry and cassis in front of bright acidity and a finish of blueberries. Enjoy with rack of lamb or duck breast rubbed with Italian herbs.
