Canoe Ridge Vineyard 2014 The Expedition Sauvignon Blanc, Columbia Valley, $15
By Great Northwest Wine on January 3, 2016
Best Buy! While Bill Murray focuses his red program on estate fruit from Washington state’s Horse Heaven Hills, he pulls from historic Sagemoor Farms near the scenic Hanford Reach and Precept colleague Dave Minick’s Willow Crest Vineyard in Prosser. The result is a bright and crisp Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of dried apricot, sweet herbs, starfruit and jicama with flavors to match. Citrusy acidity, a nice bit of salinity and a bone-dry approach (0.3% residual sugar) make for a food-friendly finish.
