Lewis-Clark Valley grain farming brothers Art and Doug McIntosh used Mourvèdre from historic Sagemoor Vineyards along the Columbia River north of Pasco, Wash., to help christen their new vinification facility in Lewiston, Idaho. It’s a beautiful example of the bold red Rhône variety, thanks to dark, spicy aromas of sweet oak, raspberry and plum, followed by fruit-driven flavors of pomegranate, red currant and blackberry. This merited a gold medal at the 2015 Idaho Wine Competition.
