DANCIN Vineyards 2013 Plié 65 Pinot Noir, Southern Oregon, $34
By Great Northwest Wine on January 24, 2016
The Marcas blend their Italian hospitality and passion for Pinot Noir in the quaint community of Jacksonville, Ore., and they develop a theme of dance in the description of their wines. Named after the ballet position, the warm vintage of 2013 allowed Dan Marca to bring in these blocks of his Dijon 115 before the late September rains struck Oregon. There’s spice and smokiness behind the aromas of raspberry, black cherry, cocoa powder and saddle leather. Inside, those red fruit flavors come with solid tannins, pomegranate acidity and a pinch of sweet mint. Cindy Marca pairs this with her delicious recipe for curried rice and fruit salad.
