Winter’s Hill Estate 2014 Watershed Pinot Noir, Dundee Hills, $25
By Great Northwest Wine on May 11, 2016
The Gladhart vineyard in the Dundee Hills borders the watersheds for the towns of both Dayton and Lafayette – hence the heritage of their first Pinot Noir released from the 2014 vintage. Harvest began Sept. 19, and there’s a pleasing greeting of dark purple notes akin to Marionberry, black currant and dried blueberry with lavender, vanilla and cocoa. Those same fruit tones flow across the palate with nice acidity, plush tannins and a round finish.
Rating: Excellent
Production: 800 cases
Alcohol: 13%
