Merry Cellars 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley, $48
By Great Northwest Wine on May 15, 2016
Patrick Merry’s blend of Seven Hills Vineyard and Stillwater Creek Vineyard shows classic Washington state Cab notes of Chelan cherry, black currant, roasted coffee and chocolate, backed by pinches of pipe tobacco and chalkboard dust. The structure offers a plush entry of dark plum and cassis with taut tannins akin to blueberry skin, bright acidity and a finish of cocoa.
