Nefarious Cellars 2013 Stone’s Throw Vineyard Estate Riesling, Columbia Valley, $20
By Great Northwest Wine on May 15, 2016
This estate site for the Neffs is not far from the Columbia River near Pateros, Wash., includes clone 9 and clone 12 Riesling, and the profile of this bottling is reminiscent of the orchards that made Wenatchee and Chelan famous. Aromas of baked peach pie, Gala apple, spearmint gum and Scotch Tape lead to a clean and bright entry of Bartlett, jasmine tea and lavender. The combination of acidity and residual sugar (1.7%) provide nice length and a fairly dry finish.
