Knight Hill Winery 2014 Knight’s White, Yakima Valley, $16
Rattlesnake Hills winemaker Terry Harrison works with the Kidd family’s young Bosetti Vineyard for this fascinating and delicious white Rhône blend of Grenache Blanc, Picpoul and Roussanne. Only the Grenache Blanc spent time in oak, helping to create beautiful springtime aromas of cherry and peach orchards in bloom with Gravenstein apple. There’s the anticipated brisk acidity on the entry, which carries along flavors of Limeade and honeydew melon into a slaty finish with jicama and starfruit. Suggested pairings include grilled sea bass and anything cooked with garlic. The wine is available at Wray’s Marketfresh IGA in Yakima, each day at their Zillah tasting room in the Rattlesnake Hills and online.
