Nefarious Cellars 2014 Defiance Vineyard Estate Viognier, Lake Chelan, $20
By Great Northwest Wine on May 22, 2016
In 2006, the Neffs are celebrating their 10th anniversary as Chelan winemakers, and Heather draws from their 2-acre block of Viognier in Defiance Vineyard – the planting of Rhône varieties she and husband, Dean, farm surrounding their winery and tasting room. The inviting nose of Mandarin orange and orange oil includes Lake Country Harvest dried apple and vanilla. On the palate, the bright entry of Gala apple and apricot leads to a finish of poached pear with toast and cinnamon. It pairs well with grilled shrimp served on the deck.
