Township 7 Vineyards & Winery 2015 Sauvignon Blanc, Okanagan Valley, $18
By Great Northwest Wine on May 23, 2016
Mary McDermott shines with her second crush on British Columbia’s Naramata Bench, bringing in Sauvignon Blanc from Blue Terrace and Rock Pocket vineyards near Oliver to provide much of what you’d hope for from the Okanagan Valley. Inviting aromas of lime, gooseberry and passion fruit include just a hint of tomcat. There’s an abundance of briskness on the palate with more gooseberry and lime juice, joined by kiwi, starfruit, celery leaf and a long finish of grapefruit. Suggested pairings include summertime salads, creamy chèvre and Pacific Halibut with Grapefruit Beurre Blanc.
