In the past, Jim Sanders worked with fruit from the Dundee Hills for the Pinot Gris under this brand. Here, he’s reached into a rocky parcel in the Chehalem Mountains for his expression that’s an excellent example of the style more Oregon winemakers are achieving. Aromas lead with honeydew melon, lavender, lemongrass and jicama, while the flavor profile drives that home with authority. Screaming acidity produces succulence with hints of Bosc pear, gooseberry and more jicama. A scrape of slate does not get lost in the finish of lime peel, which offers great tartness to pair deliciously with seafood. These wines are available at the tasting room in Dundee as well as select retailers and restaurants throughout Oregon, Chicago and New Jersey.
