By Great Northwest Wine on July 9, 2016
A blend discontinued for several vintages, winemaking talent Scott Greer revives this Left Bank-style blend of Bordeaux varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Merlot (30%) and Cabernet Franc from 13-year-old vines at Sheridan Vineyard in Washington’s Rattlesnake Hills. He works with a barrel program of 23 months in 50% new French oak to present a food-friendly, Old World approach as aromas of Bing cherry, blackberry and blueberry are joined by pipe tobacco, coriander and lime peel. Cassis and Montmorency cherry flavors lead the structure, making for pleasing Earl Grey tea tannins and bright acidity.
