SuLei Cellars 2015 Sauvignon Blanc, Yakima Valley, $18
By Great Northwest Wine on August 21, 2016
Walla Walla winemakers Tanya Woodley and Elaine Jomwe continue their synergy with Oasis Vineyard near the Yakima Valey town of Prosser. That explains why for the second straight vintage their presentation with Sauvignon Blanc shows classic aromas of gooseberry and Granny Smith apple with fresh-cut celery, dried pineapple and butterscotch candy. On the palate, it’s clean and lean with more crisp apple and gooseberry flavors. There’s a bit of roundness to the midpalate before the long finish of fresh herbs and a boost of acidity to pair deliciously with scallops.
