Isenhower Cellars 2014 Extra Brut Blanc de Blanc, Yakima Valley, $35
By Great Northwest Wine on October 3, 2016
The Walla Walla Valley hasn’t offer much in the way of sparking wine producers, yet Brett Isenhower continues to make a splash with his methode Champenoise that’s focused on Roussanne —a grape he’s worked with for more than a decade – from Olsen Ranch Vineyard. The nose offers clean lines of Golden Delicious apple, Bosc pear and clove as it follows through with brisk and bright tones of gooseberry and lemon peel. Pleasing mousse, a midpalate of buttered French baguette and barely a whisper of dosage presents a Sahara-dry finish with stunning length.
