Tsillan Cellars 2013 Estate Reserve Syrah, Lake Chelan, $35
Perched above the southern shore of Lake Chelan, Tsillan Cellars is one of the most beautiful destination wineries in the Pacific Northwest – perhaps even on the West Coast. It is the creation of Dr. Robert Jankelson, who envisioned this Tuscan-themed property many years ago. This Syrah from estate grapes is a classic, thanks to aromas of mocha, spice and bacon, followed by rich, round flavors of ripe plum and blackberry with hints of blueberry on the finish. It is a beautifully integrated wine to pair with wild game or perhaps lasagna. This won double gold at the 2016 Wenatchee Wine & Food Festival wine competition.
