DANCIN Vineyards 2014 Pas de Chat Pinot Noir, Southern Oregon, $37
Wine Press Northwest’s 2017 Oregon Winery of the Year affirmed its award this spring at the Cascadia Wine Competition with a double gold medal for its 2014 Pas de Chat Pinot Noir. A product of Brian Denner’s first vintage for DANCIN, this Pinot Noir is full and lush with flavors of blackberry and plum, and the nose matches perfectly, indulging the senses with fruit, spice and a velvety sensation. Cue up Alexa to invite the BeeGees into your kitchen, and enjoy a glass while you prepare dinner, pair this with pork or BBQ, and you, too, could be dancin’. While visiting Dan and Cindy Marca’s estate near Jacksonville, the suggested pairing is with Passo e Mezzo, their wood-fired artisan pizza featuring duck confit, Easy Valley Spinach and Pumpkin Seed Pesto and buratta.
