Larry Pearson followed the footsteps of Jim Holmes and John Williams up Red Mountain, and his prescience stemming from his 1985 planting continues to be rewarded both as a grower for others and a winemaker for his own brand. His most recent blend of Grenache (62%), Mourvèdre (30%) and Syrah from his Tapteil West Vineyard overlooking the Yakima River is the product of a historically hot vintage, and this is pleasantly mesomorphic expression. Dark purple fruit and light oak tones of black cherry and blackberry lead to a juicy finish of boysenberry and blueberry.
