Waterbrook Winery 2017 Sangiovese Rosé, Columbia Valley, $15

By on August 2, 2018

Best Buy! Seattle-based Precept Wine now produces 50,000 cases of pink wine throughout its portfolio, and John Freeman’s work in Walla Walla accounts for about 20 percent of that with this bottling of Sangiovese rosé under the historic Waterbrook brand. Canyon Vineyard Ranch in the Yakima Valley is among the vineyard sources that combine to create pleasing florals akin to a carton of fresh-picked strawberries, Rainier cherry and quince. On the palate, it brings a food-friendly structure that’s far from sweet, hinting a pink strawberries with a pinch of strawberry leaf, Rainier cherry juice and a nibble of cherry skin.

Rating: Outstanding!

Production: 9,800 cases
