Browne Family Vineyards 2016 Chardonnay, Columbia Valley, $25
By Great Northwest Wine on August 27, 2018
Precept CEO Andrew Browne’s personal brand recruits Waterbrook winemaker John Freeman to craft a fine Chardonnay with apple and citrus aromas, apple and fresh pineapple flavors and a crisp finish with a bit of apple peel bite at the end. Its farewell offers up just a hint of tropicality, likely from the Viognier (4%) blended into it, and the background of new French oak (62%) adds to the regal approach. This won a gold medal at the sixth annual Cascadia International Wine Competition.
