Sagelands Vineyard 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley, $12
By Great Northwest Wine on January 19, 2020

Best Buy! One of the largest family-owned vineyards in the Pacific Northwest – Goose Ridge – and underrated Doval Jones on the Wahluke Slope come together in this crowd-pleaser Cab by winemaker Cesar Cuellar. A longtime member of the Waterbrook team in Walla Walla, Cuellar offers layers of aromas to include clove, sweet herbs, toast and tar behind dried cherry and currant. The texture of fine-grained tannins evolve with mouth-filling flavors of black cherry and pomegranate, capped by dark chocolate and blueberry candy.
