Carl’s Pond Winery 2014 Rattlesnake Ruby Red, Rattlesnake Hills, $15

By on April 22, 2020

Best Buy! A pair of higher-elevation vineyards in the Yakima Valley – Konnowac and Cordon Grove – are blended by Puget Sound vintners Frank Reale and Gary Sleeger in this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (58%), Merlot (34%) and Syrah. The 26 months in barrel provides pleasing aromas of sweet toast, cherry, cola, plum and milk chocolate. Managed tannins and bright acidity allow for flavors of red currant and Montmorency cherry to play out with finish of slate, dried herbs and Almond Joy.
