A number of Pinot Noir producers refer to Pommard as “the sexy clone,” and that’s the case with this beauty from the Gladhart family’s site in Oregon’s Dundee Hills. In this historically hot vintage, they wrapped up harvesting this block by Sept. 18, and it’s become part of the block-specific series they launched in 2006. A medley of dark purple fruit akin to blueberry, pomegranate and Marionberry offers pleasing earthiness and a juicy black cherry finish that’s particularly pleasing.
