Juan Pablo Valot joined other Willamette Valley winemaking talents on the path to Belmont Vineyard in Southern Oregon for their quest in producing Petite Sirah, and this bottling spent 26 months in barrel, with one of those casks being new oak. A dense nose of dark blue fruit akin to black cherry and blackcurrant leads to similar flavors presented in a full-bodied structure of elderberry skins that’s finished juicy by a blend of blueberry and pomegranate. Enjoy with pork ribs or roasted lamb. Look for these wines in downtown Corvallis at The Nest, just a block from the Willamette River and the Courtyard Marriott on Adams Street.
