Fortuity Cellars 2019 Rosé of Cinsaut, Yakima Valley, $24

Founding winemaker Johnny Brose left a number of gold-medal winners in the cellar when he took the dual post as program chair and winemaking instructor at the Northwest Wine Studies Center for Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Ore. Earlier this year, the Fergestroms recruited Alexis Sells from Duckhorn Wine Co., and she’s taken the final — dare we say it — “Brosé” across the finish line in delicious fashion. In the glass, the charming work with this red Rhône grape is the color of strawberry juice and offers aromas of wild strawberry, dusty Rainier cherry, rose petal and saffron. On the palate, flavors of strawberry freezer jam and red currant strike a terrific balance, capped by a sense of slatiness and strawberry limeade. Suggested pairings include charcuterie, salmon, sushi, pork chops, curry dishes and lamb.
