By Great Northwest Wine on September 27, 2020

The flagship release for Daniel Warnshuis captures a site-wide sense of the project he launched in 2002 in Oregon’s North Willamette Valley. A dozen clones, including rarities such as Calera, Swan and cuttings from famed Arcus and Shea vineyards, are represented across his 17 acres in Willakenzie soils. The 11 months in 40% new Burgundian barrels offer pleasing toast and cocoa powder aromas that allow for black cherry and tangerine zest. There’s finesse to the flavors of red currant and Montmorency cherry, making for a mouthwatering finish of blood orange.
