Stephen Reustle’s site and his skill have earned him acclaim for Syrah, so it makes sense that this Southern Oregon producer also excels with Viognier from his vines north of Roseburg. The investment of French oak shows with the hint of shortcake between the orange zest and lemon curd aromas, while the use of stainless steel in the fermentation (20%) allows for a delicious approach of orange Creamsicle and lemon custard. Pink grapefruit zest and orange pith arrive in the finish that lends the wine to suggested pairings of Chicken Sauté, Melon and Prosciutto, a spicy tuna roll or Jamaica Shrimp and Rice.
