Best Buy! At 830 acres, making it one of the largest family-owned vineyards in the Northwest, Airport Ranches continues to pay homage to its history as a West Coast base for the Army Air Corps during World War II. Travis Maple now orchestrates the winemaking for the Miller family, and his blend of Pinot Gris (58%), Chardonnay (35%) and Viognier takes off with style. There’s an early sense of the Pinot Gris with the starfruit aromas that include lemon, guava and lime soda, and while there’s not any oak on the horizon, it’s weighted nicely with a clean blend of lemon/lime and jicama, capped by a slice of starfruit and green apple.
