Few in the North Willamette Valley cast a spotlight on the lower-yielding Dijon clone 114 Pinot Noir. Steve Lutz not only creates a special five-barrel lot from these vines in rocky soils, but he names this project as a tribute to his mother. It presents itself with a profile of dark purple fruit akin to pomegranate, Montmorency cherry and boysenberry amid boisterous structure that Lutz builds for cellaring over the course of five to 10 years. Look for this to presented this fall by Lutz as part of his Lenne Goes to the Rhine cruise with AMA Waterways.
