Bob Delf’s award-winning efforts from the 2019 vintage already include his stellar Leggiero Rhône-inspired rosé project and this bright and beautiful Chardonnay that keeps the focus on his fruit source — the Miller family’s historic Airport Ranch along the Roza in Washington’s Yakima Valley. Aromas of lemon, Bosc pear, jasmine and lavender lead to delicious flavors of cantaloupe, more Bosc pear and a long finish of dried apricot. There’s great weight to the midpalate, and the unoaked structure makes this quite a quaffer. The screwcap makes it easy to get into, too, while preparing salmon, sushi, phad Thai or a cheese platter.
