Best Buy! Florida-based and female-founded SipClean recently entered the non-alcoholic wine scene and partners with Sonoma winemaker Meredith Leahy on this convenient and remarkably flavorful rosé made with Cabernet Sauvignon from Doval Vineyard on Washington’s Wahluke Slope. Leahy, who earned a chemistry degree from the University of Florida and now makes wine for the Sebastiani family Viansa project that’s part of Vintage Wine Estates, provides a benchmark for others in this space. Aromas include dried mango, cantaloupe, rose petal, peach skin and candy corn. Inside, it’s bright and lively with some depth to the flavors of cranberry, Meyer lemon and a Super100 cherry tomato. With no perceptible sugar (3 grams) and an abundance of succulence, it holds appeal for those who enjoy a super-crisp, food-friendly Pinot Gris. Removing the alcohol also slims this down to 40 calories, and other nutritional info includes iron (8%) and potassium (8%).
