Snohomish Valley winemaker Tom Wilson has produced a Platinum winner from his estate Pinot Noir vines, but he’s relied on Gamache Vineyard in the White Bluffs of the Columbia Valley for the other three Platinums he’s won in the past three years. Here’s a Cab brimming with black and blue fruit aromas that are joined by cardamon and tobacco leaf. On the jammy palate, there come Cherries Jubilee and strawberry, which carry past the superbly managed tannins for a long finish. Qualifying award: Seattle Wine Awards (gold)
