For the second straight vintage, Woodinville winemaker Tim Armstrong has earned our top rating for his work with Cabernet Sauvignon. He branched out with his vineyards, sourcing from Hattrup Farms’ Elephant Mountain (50%) in the Rattlesnake Hills and vaunted Klipsun Vineyard (25%) on Red Mountain, which were blended with Merlot from Fielding Hills’ Riverbend Vineyard along the Wahluke Slope. It’s loaded with enticing aromas of Bing cherry and black currant, joined by espresso, dark toast and Milky Way candy bar. Smooth and ripe flavors of black cherry and pomegranate lead to an elegant midpalate of white chocolate, making for a gorgeous structure and lengthy finish. The Armstrongs now ship to more than a dozen states.
